HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4Peery of Chicago, who passed away on November 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Peery was born on December 16, 1925; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mary Peery started working at a west side
7electrical plant as a core-cleaner on industrial equipment; she
8became the plant's first female core-maker, eventually
9supervising the other core-makers; she retired at the age of 73
10after nearly 40 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Peery was preceded in death by her brother,
12Charles Anderson, and her sister, Leola Spann; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mary Peery is survived by her daughters, Geraldine
14Green (James) and Neva Hardaway (Ronnie); Mildred Webster,
15Katie Pettis, Betty Taylor, Shirley Chambers, John Dorsey, and
16Levy Anderson Jr.; her grandchildren, Anita Dilce, Harvey
17Fields (Lawanda), James Green (Tracy), Clarence Jackson III
18(Bernadette), Clifton Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Richard
19Jackson (Valerie); her great-grandchildren, Terry Eagle, Amber
20Fields, Simone Fields, Bianca Green, Clarence Jackson IV,
21Joseph Jackson Jr., Nayati Jackson, Selena Jackson, and Lauren

1Williams; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous friends
2and relatives; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
5mourn the passing of Mary Peery, and extend our sincere
6condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7her; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Mary Peery as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
