1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Phil Kambic on being named
4 one of the "Top Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to
5 Know" by Becker's Hospital Review; and

6     WHEREAS, Phil Kambic graduated from Kankakee Eastridge
7 High School in Kankakee in 1981; he later earned a Bachelor of
8 Science from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of
9 Business Administration from Governors State University; and

10     WHEREAS, Phil Kambic joined Riverside Healthcare in 1985,
11 beginning in the technology department and working his way
12 through various leadership roles before being named President
13 and CEO in January of 2006; and

14     WHEREAS, Riverside Healthcare has grown to become Kankakee
15 County's largest employer with over 3,000 employees; in
16 addition, the organization has doubled its net assets and
17 expanded its geographic footprint into five counties; and

18     WHEREAS, Under Phil Kambic's leadership, the medical
19 centers of Riverside Healthcare have received multiple Top 100
20 Hospital Awards from Truven Analytics, the Everest Award,
21 Patient Safety awards from HealthGrades, Top 50 Cardiovascular

1 Hospital Awards, and numerous more from various awarding
2 agencies; and

3     WHEREAS, Phil Kambic serves the medical community of the
4 State of Illinois as a member on the boards of the Illinois
5 Hospital Association, the Illinois Provider Trust, and various
6 Illinois Hospital Association Committees; he is also a Fellow
7 of the American College of Healthcare Executives; and

8     WHEREAS, Phil Kambic is married to Lynda Kambic and
9 together they have two children; therefore, be it

10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11 HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate Phil Kambic on being named one of the nation's
13 "Top Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know"; and be
14 it further

15     RESOLVED, That we wish Phil Kambic many more successful
16 years of service to the healthcare community and admire all
17 that he has accomplished; and be it further

18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to Phil Kambic as an expression of our esteem and
20 respect.
