HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Bradley-Bourbonnais
4Community High School District 307 on being named to the
5College Board's Eighth Annual AP District Honor Roll; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The AP District Honor Roll recognizes school
7districts that are committed to increasing access to AP courses
8for underrepresented students while simultaneously maintaining
9or increasing the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores
10of three or higher; and
 
11    WHEREAS, AP District Honor Roll recipients are committed to
12expanding the availability of AP courses among prepared and
13motivated students of all backgrounds; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The criteria to be considered for the AP District
15Honor Roll includes increased participation and access to AP by
16at least four percent in large districts, at least six percent
17in medium districts, and at least 11 percent in small
18districts; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The criteria also includes an increased or
20maintained percentage of American Indian/Alaska Native,
21African American, Hispanic and Native Hawaiian/Pacific

1Islander students taking exams and increased or maintained
2percentage of these students scoring a three or higher on at
3least one AP Exam; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Improved performance levels are also considered
5when comparing the percentage of students in 2017 scoring a
6three or higher than those in 2015, unless the district has
7already attained a performance level at which more than 70
8percent of its AP students are scoring a three or higher;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12recognize Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School District
13307 for their commitment to increasing AP access to their
14students; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourages
16District 307 to continue to strive for excellence in all areas
17of academics, including AP coursework; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to District 307 Superintendent Dr. Scott Wakeley to
20commemorate the school's commitment to education.
