HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James I. "Jimmy" Sanfilippo, who passed away on December 12, 2017; and

WHEREAS, James Sanfilippo was born on April 30, 1958; and

WHEREAS, James Sanfilippo was president and business representative for Carpenters Local 1539, president of the Chicago and Western Lakes Port Council, and Carpenters Union Representative to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District; and

WHEREAS, James Sanfilippo served as a delegate to the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, the UBC General Convention, the Chicago Federation of Labor, and the Chicago and Cook County Building Trades Council; and

WHEREAS, James Sanfilippo was an executive board member of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and the Southland Friends of Labor; he was also a member of the Italian American Labor Council; and

WHEREAS, James Sanfilippo was the beloved husband of Karen (McFarland); the loving father of Michael (Jessica), Nicholas (Megan), Jeffrey (Melissa), and Jonathan Sanfilippo; the cherished grandfather of Gianna, Chase, Anthony James, and Halie; the dear son of Alice Mazgay and the late Michael Sanfilippo; the fond brother of Joseph (Dawn) Sanfilippo, Darlene (James) Coffey, and John Sanfilippo; the brother-in-law of Kathleen (Edward) Murphy and John (Lea) McFarland; and the kind uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James I. "Jimmy" Sanfilippo, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Sanfilippo as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
