HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Richland County Farm Bureau for its commitment to proudly serving farmers in the county of Richland, as well as the state, for 100 years; and

WHEREAS, In 1917, farm leaders and enterprising businessmen in Richland County saw the need to start an organization to help farmers within the county; this organization was founded and called the Richland County Farm Bureau; a group of farmers began meeting to discuss important issues facing Richland County's farming community and families; in the early years, Richland County Farm Bureau proved its influence by introducing programs that drastically improved the lives of farmers within the county; and

WHEREAS, The Richland County Farm Bureau is a membership-driven, non-profit organization that provides excellent agricultural resources, education, and information to all rural and urban Richland County residents; and

WHEREAS, Throughout its long history, the Richland County Farm Bureau has developed and initiated many farm programs, agricultural education programs, and member services and benefits in order to improve Richland County's agricultural community and to ensure that agriculture stays at the forefront as one of Richland County's most valuable economic engines; and

WHEREAS, The Richland County Farm Bureau continues to give back to the people and community of the county; and

WHEREAS, Today, the Richland County Farm Bureau is a leader for agricultural policy on the local, State, and national levels by focusing on its core mission: to improve the economic well-being of agriculture and enrich the quality of farm family life; and

WHEREAS, The Richland County Farm Bureau achieves its mission by educating farmers, supporting common sense legislation, and telling the farmer's story to the public; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members and staff of the Richland County Farm Bureau on the occasion of the organization's l00th anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we recognize and appreciate the Richland County Farm Bureau's leadership and guidance on matters important to Richland County's agricultural community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to the Richland County Farm Bureau.
