HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize the 80th anniversary of the
4Riverside Junior Woman's Charity; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Riverside Junior Woman's Charity was formed on
6February 8, 1937 when Lorraine Bender and 35 others met at her
7home; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The majority of the women were graduates of the
9Riverside Brookfield High School class of 1935 and had a
10commitment to charitable, educational, and civic activities to
11promote and serve the greater community of Riverside; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The year 2000 marked a new millennium, a new
13century, a new decade, and a time of change for the Riverside
14Junior Woman's Charity; in 2001, it was recognized by the State
15of Illinois as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Although membership has ebbed and flowed over the
17years, the members remain devoted to supporting their community
18through compassion, fellowship, and philanthropy; therefore,
19be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
2recognizes the 80th anniversary of the Riverside Junior Woman's
3Charity, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity as a symbol
7of our respect and esteem.
