HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the 80th anniversary of the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity; and

WHEREAS, The Riverside Junior Woman's Charity was formed on February 8, 1937 when Lorraine Bender and 35 others met at her home; and

WHEREAS, The majority of the women were graduates of the Riverside Brookfield High School class of 1935 and had a commitment to charitable, educational, and civic activities to promote and serve the greater community of Riverside; and

WHEREAS, The year 2000 marked a new millennium, a new century, a new decade, and a time of change for the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity; in 2001, it was recognized by the State of Illinois as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; and

WHEREAS, Although membership has ebbed and flowed over the years, the members remain devoted to supporting their community through compassion, fellowship, and philanthropy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognizes the 80th anniversary of the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Riverside Junior Woman's Charity as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
