225 ILCS 60/10  from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10

    Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the duties of the Department.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by
5changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 60/10)  (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2016)
8    Sec. 10. The The Department shall:
9        (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
10    standards of educational requirements to be observed by
11    medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges;
12        (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that
13    the quality of medical training is an appropriate concern
14    in the recruiting, licensing, credentialing and
15    participation in residency programs of physicians.
16    However, it is inappropriate to discriminate against any
17    physician because of national origin or geographic
18    location of medical education;
19        (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the
20    administration of this Act.
