SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeannine S. Triebel of Peoria, who passed away on July 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel was born in Decatur to Rodney E. and Marjorie (Wilkinson) Spangler on August 8, 1929; she graduated from DePauw University in 1951, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority; she married Russell Field Triebel in Decatur on May 31, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel taught elementary school in El Paso, Texas for two years while her husband served in the United States Army at Fort Bliss; after her children left for college, she enjoyed working at the Junction City Book Shop; and

WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel was active in the Peoria community; she served on the board of directors for the YWCA and the Children's Home Association of Illinois; she was a member of the Junior League of Peoria for many years, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1970; she was an active, longtime member of First Federated Church in Peoria, where her son served as the associate minister for eight years; she enjoyed tennis, golf, dinner parties, and bridge with her friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Field Triebel; her sister, Sandra Spangler Gannett; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel is survived by her daughter, Deborah Field Triebel; her brother, Rodney (Becky) Spangler; her daughter-in-law, Karen (John) Calder; her granddaughters, Megan (Michael) Stoll, Melissa (James) Bello, and Margaret Triebel; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jack and Oliver Stoll, and Dominic and Elise Bello; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeannine S. Triebel, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeannine Triebel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
