SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roger Herman Adler of Woodstock, who
4passed away on October 5, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Adler was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Matt
6and Marian Adler on December 10, 1953; he moved to Illinois as
7a teen and graduated from Prospect High School; after
8graduation, he dove into the music business and taught lessons
9and played live shows; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roger Adler was a successful composer, producer,
11and performer; his musical credits include television
12commercials, the television show Wild Chicago, a movie
13soundtrack, an Emmy nomination, and performances with the
14Chicago-based Ken Arlen Orchestra; after his retirement, he
15continued to teach and work with local artists; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roger Adler was unwaveringly positive and
17approached all of life's challenges with optimism; he was kind
18and sociable, and he easily connected with everyone around him;
19he was a friend to all; he spoke with great pride about his
20daughters; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Roger Adler was preceded in death by his parents;

2    WHEREAS, Roger Adler is survived by his beloved daughters,
3Nickie Adler and Jackie (Dan) Janke; his cherished companion of
4five years, Jane Turley and her family; his siblings, Mary
5(Jim) Ferschinger, Mark Adler, and Jeff (Lisa) Adler; his
6nieces and nephews, Bryan (Kristin) Ferschinger, Jamie
7(Quintin) Ferschinger, and Sophie Adler; and his beloved
8granddogs, Ellie, Ty, and Luna; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Roger Herman Adler and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Roger Adler as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
