SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Pearl Lillian Mayfield, who passed away on January 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was born to Postel and Rosie Mayfield on January 21, 1945; she graduated from North Chicago Community High School and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan and North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield retired from Johnson Motors and W.W. Grainier; after retirement; she worked for Sheridan Health for several years; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was affectionately known as "Lil Bird"; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Mayfield; her children, Renee Mayfield, and Antoinette Nicholson; and her beloved grandson, Jonathan Wilkins; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield is survived by her children, Rick (Myeshia) Coleman, Eugene Raymon Mayfield, Rita (Wesley) Sneed, and Norman (Cynthia) Medle; her adopted son, Bobby Gordon; her grandchildren, Eric Mayfield, Rayen Mayfield, Ruben Sanchez, Xavier Coleman, Iyana Brunson, Kaylah Duty, Norman Medley Jr., and Desiree Medley; her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zoe, and Mila; her sisters, Mae Bertha Poole, and Gloria Carr; her brothers, John and Rayburn (Linda) Mayfield; her special nephews, Michael and Jeff McBride; her nieces, Claudine Dugger, and Edra Stewart; a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Pearl Lillian Mayfield, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pearl Mayfield as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
