SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Pearl Lillian Mayfield, who passed away
4on January 20, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was born to Postel and Rosie
6Mayfield on January 21, 1945; she graduated from North Chicago
7Community High School and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan
8and North Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield retired from Johnson Motors and
10W.W. Grainier; after retirement; she worked for Sheridan Health
11for several years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was affectionately known as "Lil
13Bird"; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was preceded in death by her
15parents; her brother, William Mayfield; her children, Renee
16Mayfield, and Antoinette Nicholson; and her beloved grandson,
17Jonathan Wilkins; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield is survived by her children, Rick
19(Myeshia) Coleman, Eugene Raymon Mayfield, Rita (Wesley)
20Sneed, and Norman (Cynthia) Medle; her adopted son, Bobby

1Gordon; her grandchildren, Eric Mayfield, Rayen Mayfield,
2Ruben Sanchez, Xavier Coleman, Iyana Brunson, Kaylah Duty,
3Norman Medley Jr., and Desiree Medley; her
4great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zoe, and Mila; her sisters, Mae
5Bertha Poole, and Gloria Carr; her brothers, John and Rayburn
6(Linda) Mayfield; her special nephews, Michael and Jeff
7McBride; her nieces, Claudine Dugger, and Edra Stewart; a host
8of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Pearl Lillian Mayfield, and extend our sincere condolences to
13her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Pearl Mayfield as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
