SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilyn L. Ferguson, who passed away on
4October 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Ferguson was born in Joliet to Henry R.
6and Mathilda Meditz on May 9, 1943; she graduated from St.
7Francis Academy in 1961 and the Chicago Business School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marilyn Ferguson was a floral designer with Labo
9Florist; previously, she was the manager of the Parklane
10Hosiery Company in Jefferson Square Mall; she was also employed
11at The Houseboat in Joliet; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marilyn Ferguson was a member of St. Ambrose
13Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Family Catholic
14Church; she enjoyed working in her garden, attending
15neighborhood block parties and holiday gatherings, playing
16Rummikube with her friends, and traveling all over the world,
17especially to her home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marilyn Ferguson was preceded in death by her
19parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marilyn Ferguson is survived by her husband,

1William J. Ferguson; her sons, Bill Ferguson (Michael), Brian
2Ferguson (Melissa), Bruce Ferguson (Mitchell), and Brad
3Ferguson (Tammy); her granddaughters, Heather and Brianne
4Ferguson; her brother, David (Margaret) Meditz; her cousins,
5Fred Rusina, Millie Sopak, Dorothy Gallina, Sharon Rigg, Mary
6Alice Brenczewski, Mary Lou Henneman, Cathy Smith, Cindy Rury,
7Patricia Moorman, Carol Sather, Mike Meditz, Beth Guzzi, Tom
8Meditz, and Cindy Kadela; and her special cousin, Joyce Voitik;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Marilyn L. Ferguson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Marilyn Ferguson as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
