SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Norman A. "Norm" Ulrich Sr. of East Peoria, who passed away on October 23, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Norm Ulrich was born in Pioneer, Ohio to Arthur M. and Mildred H. (Payne) Ulrich on July 17, 1939; he served in the United States Marine Corps and married Pearl Ballard in Belleville on February 19, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Norm Ulrich was a sportscaster for WEEK-TV for nine years and was the Peoria Riverman play-by-play man for 14 years, working over 1,400 games; and

WHEREAS, Norm Ulrich enjoyed fishing and watching his grandchildren's sporting activities; and

WHEREAS, Norm Ulrich was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Don Ulrich; and his sister, Shirley Chapman; and

WHEREAS, Norm Ulrich is survived by his wife, Pearl; his son, Norman (Chris) Ulrich Jr.; his daughters, Shirley (Brian Meeks) Ulrich, Lisa (Jeff Pittenger) Ehret, and Lana Green; his grandchildren, Angel, Destiney, Jesse, Kevin, Zac, Justine, Chase, Sara, and Chance; and his great-grandchildren, Blaze, Phoenix, and Ares; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Norman A. "Norm" Ulrich Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norm Ulrich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
