| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Henrietta Pigg of Lake Forest, who passed | 4 | | away on September 25, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg was born in Butler, Pennsylvania to | 6 | | Oliver Herman LaBernz and Sarah Agnes Logan on April 28, 1927; | 7 | | she graduated from Butler High School in 1944; during high | 8 | | school, her talents as a pianist were recognized, and she was | 9 | | selected to participate in a program sponsored by the Hammond | 10 | | Organ Company; following high school, she attended Westminster | 11 | | College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania and then enrolled in | 12 | | nursing school at Allegheny General Hospital; she graduated | 13 | | with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1949; she married Edgar | 14 | | Woolard Pigg Sr. in October of 1952; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg began her nursing career in the | 16 | | Emergency Room at Allegheny General Hospital; she also worked | 17 | | as an Assistant Nursing Arts Instructor; after suspending her | 18 | | nursing career to focus on raising her children, she joined | 19 | | Westmoreland Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she worked until | 20 | | her retirement in 1999; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg was active in her church, Grace | 22 | | United Methodist Church, and was a member of the United |

| 1 | | Methodist Women Circle and The Questers; her talents for | 2 | | accompanying the choir and other musicians led to her | 3 | | appointment as church organist, where she served nearly every | 4 | | Sunday for over 40 years; she loved playing the organ and piano | 5 | | for the choir, and she tirelessly promoted the music ministry | 6 | | at Grace; she also played for the vesper services for residents | 7 | | at Westmoreland and Lake Forest Place; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg volunteered for the Lake Bluff | 9 | | Garden Club; she was a Paul Harris Fellow and remained active | 10 | | in Rotary International until her death; she always had a sense | 11 | | of humor about her name and was an avid collector of anything | 12 | | porcine; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg was preceded in death by her | 14 | | husband, Edgar Pigg Sr.; and her sister, Katherine LaBernz | 15 | | Wightman; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Henrietta Pigg is survived by her children, | 17 | | Katherine Pigg (Fred III) Boebel, Edgar Woolard (Barbara) | 18 | | Hammond, and David Oliver (Marguerite Welter) Pigg; her | 19 | | grandchildren, Fred IV and Katherine Grace Boebel, Carolyn and | 20 | | Robert Hammond, and David Jr. and Emma Pigg; therefore, be it
