SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeffrey Ritsert of Oak Park, who passed
4away on August 24, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert was born in Oak Park to Larry
6Ritsert and Elaine Pierce on May 9, 1992; he graduated from
7Grace Lutheran School in River Forest in 2006 and demonstrated
8an amazing aptitude for door-to-door sales during the annual
9Cub Scout popcorn drives; he graduated from Oak Park and River
10Forest High School in Oak Park in 2010, where he excelled in
11musical theater; he sang with the Madrigal Choir of Grace
12Episcopal Church in Oak Park, and loved the music and friends
13he made there; he attended Knox College in Galesburg; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert and some of the good friends he
15made at Knox College moved to Redmond, Washington in 2014 to
16share a home; he and his friends produced a monthly podcast on
17gaming and were selected to present at the 2017 Emerald City
18Comic Con in Seattle, Washington; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert worked as a waiter at a British
20pub and took classes at Bellevue College in Washington; his
21family, friends, and co-workers, in both Oak Park and Redmond,
22affectionately endured his cheerful, never-ending, atrociously

1unsuccessful quest to perfect an English accent throughout his
2years; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert was full of laughter and kindness;
4he was smart and funny and eager for any adventure; his friends
5and loved ones are grateful for the wonderful memories they
6have of him; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert truly changed the lives of those
8who knew him with the kindness that flowed from his gentle
9heart; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Ritsert is survived by his parents and his
11sister, Trinity Pierce; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Jeffrey Ritsert, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jeffrey Ritsert as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
