SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Petrina M. Ragusa, who passed away on October 26, 2017 at the age of 103; and

WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa was an active member of the Council of Catholic Women at the Church of St. Anthony Parish of Joliet; she was awarded "Woman of the Year" in 1968 and 2007; she was a member of the Columbianetts and Daughters of Isabella; she brewed coffee every morning for the breakfast club after mass and took care of the linens for the altar for many years; and

WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ragusa Sr., and her parents, John and Carmella Grimaudo; and

WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa is survived by her sons, Joseph (Lois), Dominic (Delores), John (Bonnie), and Peter (Janet); her grandchildren, Lora (Dwayne) Boothe, Mark (Sherry), Anthony (Tracy), Brad (David), Greg (Elizabeth) Ragusa, Gina (Jim) Tacchia, Amy (Jason) Buss, Carlo (Mary), and Amanda Ragusa; her great-grandchildren, Kylie and Tyler Boothe, Josh, Nicholas, Jacob, Mitchell, Alaina, Alex, and Abby Ragusa, Emma Tacchia, Sam, George, and Elizabeth Buss, and Johnny, Pauly, and Jimmy Ragusa; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Petrina M. Ragusa, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Petrina Ragusa as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
