SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Violet Scharenberg of Marengo, who passed away on October 29, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Violet Scharenberg was born in Columbus, Ohio to Giovanni and Donata (Pignatiello) Vannicelli on August 10, 1924; and

WHEREAS, Violet Scharenberg will most likely be remembered as "Pancake the Clown"; Pancake painted faces at all of the community events for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Violet Scharenberg was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marengo; she enjoyed gardening and flowers; and

WHEREAS, Violet Scharenberg was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; and seven siblings; and

WHEREAS, Violet Scharenberg is survived by her children, Linda (John) Axtell, David (Vicki) Scharenberg, Lee (Bonnie) Scharenberg, Donald (Cindy) Scharenberg, Cellast (Glen) Luck, and Cindy (Dan) Johnson; her 19 grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Phil, Tony, Mary, and Edna; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Violet Scharenberg and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Violet Scharenberg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
