SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Regina Celeste Donelan of Springfield, who passed away on November 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Regina Donelan was born in Springfield to James and Regina (Zimmerman) Coogan on September 4, 1927; she graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and Sacred Heart Academy; she married Thomas Donelan; and

WHEREAS, Regina Donelan worked as a secretary for the Illinois State Senate; she retired from the Attorney General's Office; and

WHEREAS, Regina Donelan was a member of St. Agnes parish and attended the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; she was a member of the Women's Club of Springfield, the St. Joseph's Home Rosemary Circle Coterie, and several card clubs; she volunteered with St. John's Hospital Samaritans and Caregivers Interfaith Volunteer Service; and

WHEREAS, Regina Donelan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; her son, John Donelan; her daughter, Barbara Ann Donelan; her brothers, John and James; and her sisters, Cecelia Jane Richmond and Catherine Vestal; and

WHEREAS, Regina Donelan is survived by her sons, Paul M. (Malissa "Missy" Wyzard) Donelan and Thomas M. Donelan; her daughter-in-law, Jeannie Baldes Donelan; her grandchildren, James (Cassandra Musgrave), Steve, Tara, Matthew, Paul, and Tommy; her great-grandchildren, Luke, Michael, Elizabeth, John, Nicholas, and Andrew; and her sister, Rosemarie Coogan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Regina Celeste Donelan and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Regina Donelan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
