SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Victor Mercy of East Moline, who passed
4away on November 5, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was born in East Moline to Andrew and
6Clara Rollins Mercy on March 20, 1921; he married Betty Terry
7in Kahoka, Missouri on April 11, 1942; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Victor Mercy served in the United States Army
9101st Airborne Division during World War II; he retired from
10John Deere Experimental; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Victor Mercy enjoyed woodworking; he had a great
12sense of humor and was always ready to help his friends and
13neighbors; he was a loving and devoted husband; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was preceded in death by his wife,
15Betty; his son, Terry; his four brothers; and two sister; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Victor Mercy is survived by his son, Timothy
17(MaryEllyn) Mercy; his six grandchildren; his
18great-grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Deopere; therefore,
19be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Victor Mercy and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Victor Mercy as an expression of our
7deepest sympathy.
