SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Henry "Hank" J. DeBoer of Marengo, who passed away on January 13, 2017 at the age of 76; and

WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was born in Chicago to Henry and Martha (Hoving) DeBoer on March 29, 1940; he married Christine Olsen in Berwyn on December 5, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was a veteran of the United States Army; he was the proprietor of Marengo Disposal Company from 1967 to 1999; he was the past president and founding member of the Marengo-Union Chamber of Commerce, and a past member of the McHenry County Board; he was the past director of the McHenry County Economic Development Commission, a past board member of Marengo Elementary School District 165, a past Marengo-Union Little League coach, and a past member of the Marengo Economic Development Commission; he was a former elder at Delavan Christian Reformed Church, and a member of the Marengo Lions Club; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marie DeBoer, Catherine (Gerald) Geers, and Catherine DeBoer; and a brother, Albert DeBoer; and

WHEREAS, Henry DeBoer is survived by his wife, Christine; his sons, Erik (Nikki) DeBoer, and Randy (Chrissy) DeBoer; his grandchildren, Ethan, Keenan, Riley, Jack, and Abby; a sister, Marcia (John) Evenhouse; a sister-in-law, Delora DeBoer; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Henry J. DeBoer, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Henry DeBoer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
