SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Morrissey Sr. of
4Libertyville, who passed away on August 21, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey was born on December 7, 1942 and
6resided in North Chicago until moving to Libertyville in 1987
7with his family; he graduated from North Chicago High School in
81960 and married Mary Alice Salata; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey worked as a route salesman at Pepsi
10Cola General Bottlers in Gurnee, retiring after 42 years; he
11was affectionately known to those on his route as "Whitey"; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey took great pride in his house,
13meticulous care of his cars, and was an avid sports fan; he
14loved the Chicago Cubs and was awarded the honor of throwing
15out the 1st pitch at one of their games; he was also a Corvette
16owner and enjoyed polishing them to a mirror-like finish; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey was preceded in death by his father,
18Edward "Babe" Morrissey Sr.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey is survived by his wife of 53 years,
20Alice; his children, Maureen Morrissey, Robert (Adelah)

1Morrissey Jr., and Kristin (Matthew) Graham; his
2grandchildren, Matthew and Marcus Graham and Chloe Morrissey;
3his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Morrissey; his brother, Edward
4(Mary Alice) Morrissey; his brother-in-law, Gerard Salata;
5many cousins, nieces, and nephews; extended family, Chad and
6Leah Shoman; and lifelong friends, Bob Miller and Tommy Koper;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert L. "Bob" Morrissey Sr., and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Bob Morrissey as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
