SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward Joseph Miller of Johnsburg, who passed away on November 14, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller was born in Woodstock to Alfred and Eleanor (Schaefer) Miller on January 6, 1948; he was a lifelong resident of McHenry County and educated in Richmond; he lived in Johnsburg for over ten years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller was a decorated veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he served from 1967-1969 and achieved the rank of Sergeant; among his several decorations, he received a Purple Heart; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller was employed as a carpenter by R & D Thiel Inc. for over 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller enjoyed boating and jet skiing; he was an accomplished sign builder and was always willing to help his many neighbors; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Thomas Miller; and

WHEREAS, Edward Miller is survived by his wife, Donna "Patti" (Stachula) Miller; his daughters, Erin (Robert) Burns and Janet (John) Herzog; and his grandchildren, Logan, Scarlett, Eleanor, and Lillian; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward Joseph Miller and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Miller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
