| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Molly A. Brodhay of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on November 7, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Molly Brodhay was born in Chicago to Robert and | 6 | | Evelyn (Pruess) Brodhay on October 9, 1934; she was raised at | 7 | | the Illinois Masonic Children's Home in Chicago and graduated | 8 | | from Lyons Township High School; following high school, she | 9 | | moved to McHenry County and attended Northern Illinois | 10 | | University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education | 11 | | and a master's degree; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Molly Brodhay moved to McHenry in 1990 and enjoyed | 13 | | a long and fulfilling career as a physical education teacher | 14 | | with District 155 in Crystal Lake; she retired in 1994; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Molly Brodhay was a member of the National | 16 | | Education Association, the Illinois Education Association, the | 17 | | Illinois Retired Teachers Association, the McHenry County | 18 | | Retired Teachers Association, and the Delta Si Kappa Honorary | 19 | | Physical Education Sorority; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Molly Brodhay enjoyed the companionship of 13 dogs | 21 | | throughout her life, including her most recent puppy, Lacey; |

| 1 | | she enjoyed cooking, traveling, and cheering for the Chicago | 2 | | Cubs; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Molly Brodhay is survived by her dearest friend, | 4 | | Jan Goforth; her sister, Shirley May Tait Wilson; her nephew, | 5 | | Robert Scott Tait; her nieces, Laura Ann (Fiedel) Pope; her | 6 | | great-niece, Lindsay (Steve) Guillen; her great-nephews, Chris | 7 | | Sieben and Greg Tait; her two great-great-nephews; and her | 8 | | great-great-niece; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Molly A. Brodhay and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
