SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara A. Bellman of Crystal Lake, who passed away on November 4, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Barb Bellman was born in Chicago to Donald and Eleanor (Pipcius) Erbes on January 21, 1953; she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University; she married William Bellman in Kankakee on April 12, 1975; and

WHEREAS, Barb Bellman spent the first years of her career as a surgical nurse, then as an at-home mother; she finished her professional career as a substitute teacher in the Crystal Lake District 47 schools and retired in 2011; and

WHEREAS, Barb Bellman and her husband had a passion for traveling, and she enjoyed her annual trips to Mackinac Island; she was talented and excelled at arts and crafts, including ceramics, painting, and cross stitching; she delighted in personalizing her cross stitching as gifts for others for birthdays and holidays; she enjoyed playing bingo, bike riding, bowling, shopping, and watching HGTV; and

WHEREAS, Barb Bellman was preceded in death by her father; and her mother-in-law, Betty Bellman; and

WHEREAS, Barb Bellman is survived by her loving husband, William; her son Brian Bellman; her daughter, Breanna (Jason) Pogorzelski; her grandchildren, Nicole, Lauren, and Nolan Pogorzelski; her mother; her brother, David Erbes, her sister, Karen (Jim) Wagner; her father-in-law, William Bellman; her sister-in-law, Becky Bellman; her brother-in-law, Russell (Kari) Bellman; and her many friends and relatives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara A. Bellman and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barb Bellman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
