SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Hailey JoAnn Bertels of Staunton, who passed away on November 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Hailey Bertels was born in Alton to Dean Bertels and Cassy Loflin on March 18, 1997; she graduated from Staunton High School in 2015; and

WHEREAS, Hailey Bertels attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, where she was majoring in speech pathology; and

WHEREAS, Hailey Bertels loved her family and friends and was loved by many; and

WHEREAS, Hailey Bertels was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, JoAnn Bertels, and her great-grandfather, Roy Cooper; and

WHEREAS, Hailey Bertels is survived by her mother, Cassy Loflin; her father, Dean Bertels; her brothers, Dallas and Titan Bertels; her paternal grandfather, Allen Dean Bertels; her maternal grandparents, Glen and Beverly Loflin; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Hailey JoAnn Bertels, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Hailey Bertels as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
