SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Virginia Rhodus of Carlinville, who
4passed away on December 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus was born in Dayton, Ohio to Ellen
6Johnston on August 5, 1942; she graduated from Berea Community
7High School in Berea, Kentucky in 1961; she earned her
8associate's degree from a business college in Lexington,
9Kentucky and later attended Mid-Continent Baptist College in
10Mayfield, Kentucky; she married Ronald Rhodus in Lexington,
11Kentucky on March 28, 1962; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus enjoyed the pastoral ministry and
13served alongside her husband; she was a gifted Bible teacher
14and a member of Cross Church; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus enjoyed attending church, cooking
16for her family, and making others feel blessed and happy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus is survived by her husband,
18Ronald; her mother; her daughters, Fonda (Jamie) Newton and
19Rhonnie (Ron) Schaaff; her son, Tim (Kathi) Rhodus; her
20granddaughters, Lisa North, Lorra North, Anna Rhodus, and
21Cassie Beckert; her grandsons, Trevor Rhodus, Andy Beckert, and

1Derik Beckert; and her eight great-grandchildren; therefore,
2be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Virgina Rhodus and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Virginia Rhodus as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
