SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Karen L. Scimeca of Woodstock, who passed
4away on November 19, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Karen Scimeca was born in Evanston to Robert James
6and Mary Ann (Burgess) Schumer on January 14, 1959; she married
7Timothy Scimeca on March 5, 1988; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Karen Scimeca worked as a clerk in the McHenry
9County Circuit Court Office in Woodstock; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Karen Scimeca enjoyed watching classic movies and
11reading; she had a passion for horses, whether she was out
12horseback riding or just watching the horses at Arlington
13Racetrack; she also loved spending time at Lake Michigan, where
14she made many memories as a child and as an adult; mostly, she
15enjoyed quality time with her family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Karen Scimeca was preceded in death by her father
17and her brother, Robert James Schumer; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Karen Scimeca is survived by her husband of 29
19years, Timothy; her mother, Mary Ann Schumer; her son, James
20"Jake" R. Scimeca; her daughter, Kathleen "Katie" L. Scimeca;

1her sister, Janet McCauley; and her stepson, Jason V. Scimeca;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Karen L. Scimeca, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Karen Scimeca as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
