SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank J. Davis, who passed away on November 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis was born in Bloomington to Harriet and Russell S. Davis; he graduated from Bloomington High School in 1945; he immediately joined the United States Army and proudly served with the Occupation Forces in Germany; he graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in June 1951; he married Norine Arends in Bloomington on February 23, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis joined the Van Gundy Agency after his graduation from Illinois Wesleyan and was named president in 1963; he remained there until his retirement in 1991; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis was active in the community and was a member of the Kiwanis, the Bloomington Shrine, and the Normal Rotary; he was a past president of the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees and served as the Normal Township Auditor; he also served as Chairman of the Board of Citizens Savings & Loan and on the Board of the Bloomington Country Club; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis married Elaine Radmacher on September 1, 1984; and

WHEREAS, After retirement, Frank Davis spend most of his time in Florida; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing golf and gin rummy with friends; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norine; his brother, Russell; and his sister, Charlotte Snyder; and

WHEREAS, Frank Davis is survived by his wife, Elaine; his daughters, Diane Davis Farnsworth and Linda Davis Evans; his stepdaughters, Tara Allen, Lisa Watkins, and Dianne Martinez) his grandchildren, Shelley, Lauren, Mallory, Madison, Matthew, Alec, and Haley; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank J. Davis and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Davis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
