SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank J. Davis, who passed away on
4November 20, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Davis was born in Bloomington to Harriet and
6Russell S. Davis; he graduated from Bloomington High School in
71945; he immediately joined the United States Army and proudly
8served with the Occupation Forces in Germany; he graduated from
9Illinois Wesleyan University in June 1951; he married Norine
10Arends in Bloomington on February 23, 1952; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Davis joined the Van Gundy Agency after his
12graduation from Illinois Wesleyan and was named president in
131963; he remained there until his retirement in 1991; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frank Davis was active in the community and was a
15member of the Kiwanis, the Bloomington Shrine, and the Normal
16Rotary; he was a past president of the Bloomington-Normal
17Jaycees and served as the Normal Township Auditor; he also
18served as Chairman of the Board of Citizens Savings & Loan and
19on the Board of the Bloomington Country Club; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frank Davis married Elaine Radmacher on September
211, 1984; and

1    WHEREAS, After retirement, Frank Davis spend most of his
2time in Florida; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and
3enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing golf and gin
4rummy with friends; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Davis was preceded in death by his parents;
6his first wife, Norine; his brother, Russell; and his sister,
7Charlotte Snyder; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Frank Davis is survived by his wife, Elaine; his
9daughters, Diane Davis Farnsworth and Linda Davis Evans; his
10stepdaughters, Tara Allen, Lisa Watkins, and Dianne Martinez)
11his grandchildren, Shelley, Lauren, Mallory, Madison, Matthew,
12Alec, and Haley; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Frank J. Davis and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Frank Davis as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
