SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rose Nowak Zegar of North Chicago, who passed away on December 11, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Rose Zegar was born in North Chicago and lived there her entire life; and

WHEREAS, Rose Zegar helped the World War II effort at Pfanstiehl Company in North Chicago; after the war, she married and was a homemaker; she also worked at the Globe Department Store in Waukegan with her beloved sister, Florence; and

WHEREAS, Rose Zegar enjoyed baking for her family; her sweet tooth was legendary, as was her recipe for pineapple slices; nothing gave her more happiness then being with her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Rose Zegar was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; her brothers and sisters; and her in-laws; and

WHEREAS, Rose Zegar is survived by her children, Marilyn (Stephen Sarich), Thomas (Pamela Fisset), Daniel, and Joan (Brett Schultz); her grandchildren, Justin (Ali Saull), and Lauren Schultz, Corinne Schultz; and her great-granddaughter, Ava Zegar; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rose Nowak Zegar and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rose Zegar as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
