SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry White of Springfield, who passed
4away on December 20, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry White was born in Springfield to George and
6Margaret Kiely White on November 21, 1937; he earned his
7bachelor's degree from Loyola University in 1960 and married
8Mary Ellen Bahl in Chicago on June 11, 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry White was a longtime realtor; he worked for
10the Department of Children and Family Services, where he
11founded the One Church and the One Child Adoption Program and
12served as Coordinator of Special Events and Public Information
13Officer; he was also a former director of the United Way in
14Morgan County; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry White served as chairman of the Sangamon
16County Board of Review; he was a former candidate for State
17Senate and the Sangamon County Recorder's Office; he was
18president of the Sangamon County Republican Network and served
19as committeeman for the Gardner 1 Township; he was also a
20member of the Illinois and National Association of Realtors and
21was most recently appointed to the Property Tax Appeal Board;
22he was a member of Christ the King Parish; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry White was preceded in death by his parents
2and his sister, Norma Jean Yoggerst; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jerry White is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen;
4his children, Lynn A. Petty, Karen (Vince) Manoogian, and Mark;
5his grandchildren, Daniel Petty, Anna and Natalie Manoogian,
6and Max and Isabella White; and his great-grandchildren, James
7and William Petty; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jerry White, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jerry White as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
