| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Douglas J. Oestricker of Granite City, | 4 | | who passed away on January 3, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Douglas Oestricker was born in St. Louis to Jess | 6 | | and Minnie (McConkey) Oestricker on October 11, 1938; he served | 7 | | in the United States Army and married Karen A. Buchmiller in | 8 | | Fountain City, Wisconsin on September 3, 1960; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Douglas Oestricker retired in 1997 from Granite | 10 | | City Steel after 38 years of dedicated service as a coil | 11 | | operator in the hot strip; he was a member of the United | 12 | | Steelworkers; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Douglas Oestricker enjoyed his days of traveling | 14 | | and camping and will be remembered for the love and special | 15 | | times shared with his family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Douglas Oestricker was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his daughter, Gwen Oestricker; and his sisters, Jean | 18 | | Dowell and Jerry Oestricker; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Douglas Oestricker is survived by his wife, Karen; | 20 | | his son, Brian (Karen) Oestricker; his daughter, Donna Koluch; |

| 1 | | his grandchildren, Emily Koluch and Justine Oestricker; his | 2 | | siblings, Jessica Coplin, Pat Oestricker, Richard and Terry | 3 | | Oestricker, and Keith and Joan Oestricker; and numerous nieces, | 4 | | nephews, other extended family, and friends; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Douglas J. Oestricker, and extend our sincere condolences to | 8 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
