| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Tara Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who | 4 | | passed away January 17, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy | 6 | | Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she attended | 7 | | Roosevelt Elementary School in Broadview and graduated from | 8 | | Proviso East High School in Maywood; she continued her | 9 | | education at Benedictine University, where she earned both her | 10 | | bachelor's degree in business administration and her Master of | 11 | | Business Administration; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was employed by the Housing Authority | 13 | | of Cook County in Chicago, where she held several positions, | 14 | | including General Clerk, Office Assistant, Housing Specialist, | 15 | | and Housing Program, Manager, her most recent position; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was elected Broadview Trustee in 2015, | 17 | | and she enjoyed participating in various community events and | 18 | | charity functions, including working with A&T Trucking Company | 19 | | to provide needy families in Pembrook with food, clothing, and | 20 | | medical supplies; she diligently worked to collect funds to | 21 | | help build the new Maywood Fine Arts Center; she also donated | 22 | | personal funds, in addition to volunteering, to help the Fine |

| 1 | | Arts Center's local events; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was known as a mover and a shaker who | 3 | | never let grass grow under her feet; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer is survived by her parents; and her | 5 | | son, Dereon T. Brewer-Adams; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Tara Latrice Brewer and extend our sincere condolences to her | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Tara Brewer as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
