SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jane Frances Roewer of Wonder Lake, who
4passed away on January 11, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was born to Robert and Frances (Rocak)
6Danilovich on October 19, 1927 and grew up in Cicero; she
7graduated from Morton High School in Cicero; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer began working for the Veterans
9Administration hospital in Heinz as a medical stenographer in a
10neuro-psychiatric ward in the tuberculosis department; her
11family moved to Crystal Lake, where she married Erdman (Bud)
12Roewer on May 21, 1949 and they settled in McHenry; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer worked a part time job as a mail
14carrier for the United States Post Office; she held several
15other jobs, including a Stanley Home Products dealer, an office
16worker at Sun Electric, and with the Board of Transportation
17for school districts 15 and 115; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was a Cub Scout Den Mother and an
19election judge; she enjoyed swimming, camping, cards,
20crosswords, solitaire, cooking, reading, gardening, and garage
21sales; she was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears fan;

1she was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church; she was an
2animal lover and enjoyed taking her dog for a walk in the
3woods; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was preceded in death by her husband,
5Bud; her siblings, Rose and Sophie; and her parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jane Roewer is survived by her children, Terri
7Lavin, Sherri (Mitch) Rittorno, Karen (Daniel) Meier, Robin
8(Jim) Fulton, and Robert (Kelly) Roewer; her grandchildren,
9K.J., Robby, and Jesse Lavin, Amy La Tessa (Dave Wright), Mike
10La Tessa (Christina Russo), and Patrick and Evan Roewer; her
11great-grandchildren, Collin, Ashleigh, Danica, Madison
12(Russo), Liam, and Eva; and many nieces and nephews, including
13Ed (Kay) Lutz; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Jane Frances Roewer, and extend our sincere condolences to her
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Jane Roewer as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
