SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ayden Noelle O'Malley of Nokomis, who
4passed away on January 22, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley was born in Springfield to Dennis
6M. and Rosalind R. Johnson O'Malley on December 27, 2003; she
7was an 8th grader at St. Louis Catholic School (SLS), where she
8never missed the honor roll; she was a member of the SLS
9Children's Choir and often joined in singing during weekly
10masses and school masses; she was a previous member of the SLS
11Scholastic Bowl team, the Hawks basketball team, and the CHAOS
12youth group; she was a member of the Nokomis Lady Braves
13volleyball team where she played the libero position; she was
14also a 2nd baseman and center fielder for the Lady Braves
15softball team, where she led the team in stolen bases and
16received the team Spirit Award for being a role model; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley had many friends and loved to
18attend Braves games, especially the Lady Brave's basketball
19games, announcing her friends as they took the court; she
20volunteered collecting food for the food pantry, painting the
21newly remodeled Nokomis Christian Missions, helping the little
22ones shop at the Santa Store at the Winter Wonderland, and
23helping at many fundraisers for her school and church; she

1enjoyed slumber parties, music, Snapping, Starbucks Coffee,
2and hanging out with her friends, family, and cousins; she
3loved her role as aunt to her two-year old nephew, spending as
4much time with him as she could; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Since she was young, Ayden O'Malley could be found
6wearing her Nokomis Redskin cheerleading uniform, cheering
7beside her sister or in the stands cheering at her brother's
8football games; she was involved in dance classes for many
9years and especially loved Hip-Hop; she was a past member of
10several soccer teams; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley was preceded in death by her
12cousin, Danial Miller; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley is survived by her parents; her
14sister, Amber (Bryant Wright) O'Malley; her brother, Nick
15O'Malley; her nephew, Brody Wright; her grandparents, Denny and
16Doris O'Malley, Mike and Gaylyn Casey, and Larry and Gail
17Johnson; her great-grandfather, Ernie (Mary Ann) Pieper; many
18aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Alexandra and Lauryn
19Miller, Seth Johnson, and Spencer O'Malley; and numerous
20friends, teammates, teachers, coaches, youth leaders, priests,
21and neighbors; therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Ayden Noelle O'Malley, and extend our sincere condolences to
3her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Ayden O'Malley as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
