SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk of Madison, Indiana, who passed away on January 17, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was born in Deputy, Indiana to William Morris "Billy" and Betty Marie Field Nay on January 30, 1941; she graduated from Deputy High School and Hanover College with a bachelor's degree in education; she later completed her master's degree at Indiana University; she married the Reverend Dr. John Paul Kaitschuk on June 18, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk taught eighth grade English at St. Joseph in Olney; after moving to Springfield, she taught junior high school at Williamsville; she and her family lived in Madison, Indiana from 1962 to 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1970 to 1976, in Olney from 1976 to 1987, and finally in Springfield from 1987 to 2015; she moved to Madison, Indiana in late 2015, where she lived the remainder of her life to be near her mother and family; and

WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk loved caring for her grandsons in Springfield and watching her grandchildren grow; she adored teaching and seeing her students thrive; her quick wit kept family and friends entertained, and a wicked sense of humor kept everyone around her laughing; and

WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was preceded in death by her father, William Morris "Billy" Nay, and her husband, John; and

WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk is survived by her daughter, Jennifer L. Kaitschuk (Scott Runyon); her son, James "Jim" M. (Angela) Kaitschuk; her granddaughter, Grace Froehlich; her grandsons, Jack and Sam Kaitschuk; her mother, Betty Nay; her brothers, Richard E. "Dick" (Sherry) Nay, James L. "Joe" (Mary Lou) Nay, and Clifford D. "Duke" (Sue) Nay; her sister, Donna S. (Joe) Nay Godward; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Janice Kaitschuk; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Janet Kaitschuk as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
