SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk of Madison,
4Indiana, who passed away on January 17, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was born in Deputy, Indiana to
6William Morris "Billy" and Betty Marie Field Nay on January 30,
71941; she graduated from Deputy High School and Hanover College
8with a bachelor's degree in education; she later completed her
9master's degree at Indiana University; she married the Reverend
10Dr. John Paul Kaitschuk on June 18, 1965; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk taught eighth grade English at St.
12Joseph in Olney; after moving to Springfield, she taught junior
13high school at Williamsville; she and her family lived in
14Madison, Indiana from 1962 to 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana
15from 1970 to 1976, in Olney from 1976 to 1987, and finally in
16Springfield from 1987 to 2015; she moved to Madison, Indiana in
17late 2015, where she lived the remainder of her life to be near
18her mother and family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk loved caring for her grandsons in
20Springfield and watching her grandchildren grow; she adored
21teaching and seeing her students thrive; her quick wit kept
22family and friends entertained, and a wicked sense of humor

1kept everyone around her laughing; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was preceded in death by her
3father, William Morris "Billy" Nay, and her husband, John; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk is survived by her daughter,
5Jennifer L. Kaitschuk (Scott Runyon); her son, James "Jim" M.
6(Angela) Kaitschuk; her granddaughter, Grace Froehlich; her
7grandsons, Jack and Sam Kaitschuk; her mother, Betty Nay; her
8brothers, Richard E. "Dick" (Sherry) Nay, James L. "Joe" (Mary
9Lou) Nay, and Clifford D. "Duke" (Sue) Nay; her sister, Donna
10S. (Joe) Nay Godward; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Janice
11Kaitschuk; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk, and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Janet Kaitschuk as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
