| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth Ann Klaus of Maryville, who passed | 4 | | away on January 22, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was born in Granite City to George and | 6 | | Eva Delene (Wilcox) Diak on June 10, 1951; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was a teacher for 27 years at Alton | 8 | | Marquette Catholic High School, where she taught English and | 9 | | Humanities; she was also a musical and theater director, dance | 10 | | team coach, and cheerleading coach; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was a loving wife, mother, and | 12 | | grandmother, who cherished spending time with her family and | 13 | | adored her friends and the Marquette Community; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was preceded in death by her parents; | 15 | | her father-in-law, Ronald Klaus; and her mother-in-law, | 16 | | Henrietta Gay Klaus; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus is survived by her husband of 44 years, | 18 | | John Klaus; her children, John L. (Joseph) Klaus II, Brett J. | 19 | | Klaus, and Stefanie A. (Scott) Ronald; her grandchild, Noah; | 20 | | her brothers, Robert (Kathryn), David (Kim), and George (Nancy) |
