SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William L. "Bill" Zellman of
4Jacksonville, who passed away on January 13, 2017 at the age of
587; and
 
6    WHEREAS, William Zellman was born in Paris to William and
7Gladys Anderson Zellman on November 3, 1929; he was a proud
8alumnus of Jacksonville High School Class of 1947; he was
9drafted into the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 and was
10an Atomic Veteran; he married Barbara A. Bieber in Jacksonville
11on November 12, 1950; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Zellman worked at General Telephone
13Company for over 40 years, serving locations in Jacksonville,
14Pittsfield, and Carlinville; he was a past member of the
15Jacksonville Jaycees and Harmony Masonic Lodge 3, past
16president and active member of the Jacksonville Lions Club, and
17an active member of Grace United Methodist Church; he was a
18talented woodworker, and enjoyed traveling, his dogs, planning
19his high school reunions, and being outdoors; he loved his
20family unconditionally; and
 
21    WHEREAS, William Zellman was preceded in death by his
22father, William Zellman; his mother, Gladys Price; and his

1sister, Maxine Kershaw; and
 
2    WHEREAS, William Zellman is survived by his wife, Barbara;
3his three children, Candy (Bill) Derks, Bill (Donna-Lou), and
4Amy (Mike) McHan; four grandchildren, Mary Ann (Todd) Henry,
5Andy (Brandi) Derks, and Delilah and Lauren McHan; his four
6great-grandchildren, Katie, Josh, Maddie, and Drew; and
7several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10William L. "Bill" Zellman, and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of William Zellman as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
