SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George P. Irick Jr. of Congerville, who passed away on January 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, George Irick Jr. was born in Berwyn to George P. and Jacqueline Jenkins Irick on April 30, 1949; he married Susan E. Walton in Winfield on February 12, 1972; and

WHEREAS, George Irick Jr. worked as an IT Analyst at State Farm in Bloomington for 14 years; and

WHEREAS, George Irick Jr. was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winfield; he was a lifelong member of the NRA, a member of Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), a member of the AOPA, and a Shriner; he was also a 4-H air pistol instructor and a hunting and outdoor skills instructor; he was the founding member of the Midwest Rangers Mounted Shooting Club and had recently been appointed to the Woodford County Board of Appeals; and

WHEREAS, George Irick Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jacque Irick; and

WHEREAS, George Irick Jr. is survived by his wife, Susan; his sisters, Cynthia (Rob) Skidmore and Judith (Dale) Hammersmith; his many nieces and nephews; and his horses, Bill and Yellow; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George P. Irick Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Irick Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
