SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Karen E. (Spitzbart) Young of McHenry, who passed away on January 19, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Karen Young was born in Waukegan to Lloyd and Grace (Glosson) Spitzbart on January 5, 1956; she married James B. Young at Chapel on the Hill in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on March 25, 1989; and

WHEREAS, She worked as an assembler at Intermatic in Spring Grove for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Karen Young was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Spring Grove; she found great enjoyment in cooking, baking, decorating cakes, and feeding her family and guests; she was a devoted wife and mother and often went out of her way to help others; and

WHEREAS, Karen Young was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Karen Young is survived by her husband of 28 years, James; her sons, William Young and Todd Young; her granddaughter, Alaya; her sisters, Judy (Ed) Boyer and Debbie (Steve) Robers; and her brother, Ronald (Lisa) Spitzbart; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Karen E. (Spitzbart) Young and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Karen Young as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
