SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Melville Walsh, who passed away
4on February 2, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Walsh was born in Joliet to Fred and
6Catherine (Grey) Walsh on April 1, 1932; he graduated from
7Evanston Township High School and attended Lake Forest College,
8where he played football for four years and was inducted into
9the Lake Forest Football Hall of Fame; he served in the United
10States Marine Corps and married Susan Stanley; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Walsh worked as a real estate mortgage
12banker for a number of respected Chicago area banking
13institutions; after 30 years, he established his own appraisal
14business, which he operated until his retirement; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Walsh was an avid golfer; he enjoyed
16reading, history, and movies; he was a lifelong Chicago Bears
17fan; he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending winters in
18Islamorada, Florida; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Walsh is survived by his loving wife of 64
20years, Susan; his children, Michael (Janie), Charley
21(Michele), Kevin (Katharine), Stephen (Maura), Joseph

1(Helene), Katie (Paul), Matthew (Eileen), Andy (Lynda), and
2Susie; his grandchildren, Brian, Erin (Christian), Lauren,
3Charles, Derek, Kameron, Kait (Kevin), Kelsey, Joseph, Megan,
4Patrick, Hannah, Michael, Laura, Connor, Jack, Taylor, John,
5and Charles; and his great-grandchildren, Bella, Matilda,
6William, and Jude; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Charles Melville Walsh, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Charles Walsh as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
