SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Matthew Clayton Smock of Harrisburg, who
4passed away on January 30, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was born in Carbondale to John and
6Martha (Tolbert) Smock on June 10, 2002; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was a sophomore at Harrisburg High
8School and aspired to be a video game designer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Matthew Smock enjoyed movies, cooking, WWE
10wrestling, and his one true love, a black toy poodle, Sammie;
11he profoundly impacted the lives of all who knew and loved him;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Matthew Smock was preceded in death by his
14paternal grandparents, John Russell and Freda (Turner) Smock;
15his maternal grandfather, Norman L. Tolbert; his uncle, Tony
16Shimkus; and his aunt, Linda Robinson; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Matthew Smock is survived by his parents; his
18sister, Amanda Nicole Smock; his maternal grandmother, Betty Jo
19(Dunn) Tolbert; his aunt, Margaret Shimkus; his uncles, Rusty
20(Lori) Smock, Steve (Cheryl) Smock, and the Rev. Michael (Rose)

1Hook; and several cousins; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Matthew Clayton Smock, and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Matthew Smock as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
