SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul L. Gerlich of Moline, who passed away on February 21, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerlich was born in Rock Island to Raymond and Lydia (Morrison) Gerlich; he was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War; he married Beverly Lundgren on May 20, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerlich retired from John Deere Harvester in East Moline after 40 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerlich was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerlich was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerlich is survived by his children, Dan (Laurie) Gerlich, David (Walt Wright) Gerlich, and Teresa (Bob) Carroll; and his grandchildren, Paul, Samantha, Lydia, and Izabella; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul L. Gerlich and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Gerlich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
