| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marvin E. Bauer of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on February 21, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was born in Ringwood to Edward and | 6 | | Olivia (Kattner) Bauer on July 21, 1938; he graduated from | 7 | | McHenry East High School in 1956; he was a member of the Army | 8 | | Reserve; he married Kathryn Hiller at St. John's Catholic | 9 | | Church in Johnsburg on August 19, 1961; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was employed as a carpenter at George | 11 | | Hiller and Son for over 30 years; he also owned his own | 12 | | business, Custom Cabinets by Marv; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 14 | | Church in McHenry, where he was an usher for many years; he was | 15 | | a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters, where he was a | 16 | | Legion of Honor member and recording secretary; he coached for | 17 | | the McHenry Baseball Association for many years; his | 18 | | grandchildren meant the world to him, and he never missed a | 19 | | single sporting event; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was preceded in death by his parents; | 21 | | his in-laws, Henry and Lorraine Hiller; his brothers, Urban, |

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer is survived by his wife of 56 years, | 4 | | Kathryn; his children, Debbie (Rich) Miller, David (Liane) | 5 | | Bauer, and Jill (Mark) Majercik; his grandchildren, Kristen | 6 | | (Korey), Meagan, Jennifer, Olivia, Jack, Allie, Casie, and | 7 | | Carlie; his sisters, Lu Ann (Harry) Smith and Joan (Chuck) | 8 | | Miller; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bauer and Georgia Bauer; | 9 | | his devoted caregiver, Kateryna Garkava; and his many nieces | 10 | | and nephews; therefore, be it
