SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James R. "Jim" Bunting of Dwight, who passed away on April 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Jim Bunting was born in Union Township to Earl E. and Mildred (Prickett) Bunting on May 28, 1924; he married Betty Swartz in Emington on September 16, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Jim Bunting worked for CAT for over 20 years and spent many years working the family farm; and

WHEREAS, Jim Bunting was a member of the Emington American Legion, the Dwight VFW, the Elks Lodge, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Emington Congregational United Church of Christ, and CAT Retirees; and

WHEREAS, Jim Bunting was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty; his parents; and his sister, Mary Young; and

WHEREAS, Jim Bunting is survived by his children, Lee (Marie) Bunting, Elaine (Jerry) Roberts, Donald (Marcia) Bunting, Art (Kathy) Bunting, Barb (David) Thompson, and Linda (Tom) Brady; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James R. "Jim" Bunting, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Bunting as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
