SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nicholas Todd "Nick" Riordan of Peoria,
4who passed away on April 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was born to Todd and Connie (Negray)
6Riordan on July 9, 1983; he graduated from Heyworth High School
7in 2002 and married Sarah Presley on March 7, 2009; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan became a paramedic and worked as a
9911 dispatcher for Metcom; he volunteered with the Randolph
10Township Fire Department, where he worked his way to captain,
11and with the Heyworth Ambulance Service, where he served as an
12EMT/Paramedic; he worked for Global Fire Service and also
13served for a time on the Germantown Hills Fire Department as a
14firefighter/paramedic; he was active with the Eureka Goodfield
15Ambulance Service and the Putnam County EMS as a paramedic; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 2014, Nick Riordan became a member of the
17Peoria Fire Department and was affectionately known as
18"Smiley"; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was a member of the Eastview
20Christian Church; and

1    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan cherished spending time with his
2family and could often be found cooking a breakfast that earned
3him a famous reputation; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was preceded in death by his
5grandparents, George and Dorothy Negray and Glenn and Elizabeth
6Riordan, and his brother, Bryan Wright; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Nick Riordan is survived by his wife, Sarah; his
8children, Keegan, Kallan, and Brynnley; his parents, Connie
9Riordan and Todd (Linda) Riordan; his siblings, Nathan (Lauren)
10Riordan, Derick (Erika) Riordan, and Christina Frederick; his
11nephew, Bo Frederick; his nieces, Finn Frederick and Hadley
12Riordan; his parents-in-love, Terry and Sandy Presley; his
13great-grandma through marriage, Betty Presley; and numerous
14aunts and uncles; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Nicholas Todd "Nick" Riordan, and extend our sincere
18condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
19him; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Nick Riordan as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
