SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nicholas Todd "Nick" Riordan of Peoria, who passed away on April 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was born to Todd and Connie (Negray) Riordan on July 9, 1983; he graduated from Heyworth High School in 2002 and married Sarah Presley on March 7, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan became a paramedic and worked as a 911 dispatcher for Metcom; he volunteered with the Randolph Township Fire Department, where he worked his way to captain, and with the Heyworth Ambulance Service, where he served as an EMT/Paramedic; he worked for Global Fire Service and also served for a time on the Germantown Hills Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic; he was active with the Eureka Goodfield Ambulance Service and the Putnam County EMS as a paramedic; and

WHEREAS, In 2014, Nick Riordan became a member of the Peoria Fire Department and was affectionately known as "Smiley"; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was a member of the Eastview Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan cherished spending time with his family and could often be found cooking a breakfast that earned him a famous reputation; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Dorothy Negray and Glenn and Elizabeth Riordan, and his brother, Bryan Wright; and

WHEREAS, Nick Riordan is survived by his wife, Sarah; his children, Keegan, Kallan, and Brynnley; his parents, Connie Riordan and Todd (Linda) Riordan; his siblings, Nathan (Lauren) Riordan, Derick (Erika) Riordan, and Christina Frederick; his nephew, Bo Frederick; his nieces, Finn Frederick and Hadley Riordan; his parents-in-love, Terry and Sandy Presley; his great-grandma through marriage, Betty Presley; and numerous aunts and uncles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nicholas Todd "Nick" Riordan, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nick Riordan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
