SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Chris Knapp of Danville, who passed away
4on November 12, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was born in Danville to Melvin and
6June (Grubb) Feezor on December 22, 1954; she married Doug
7Knapp at Danville First Assembly on November 17, 1973; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp finished cosmetology school before
9she even graduated high school and worked as a hair stylist for
10many years; she worked at Elite Style & Color, J.C. Penny
11Salon, and Creative Designs in Danville; she and her husband
12established Express Packaging Service & U-Haul in Danville in
131996; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp volunteered with many organizations,
15including Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society and
16Service International, helping provide disaster relief; she
17also volunteered at the Danville Women's Care Clinic, where she
18loved watching the children and was deemed the "baby whisperer"
19because she could always tell what the children needed in order
20to calm them down; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp enjoyed gardening, decorating,

1shopping, and meeting new people; most of all, she was a
2cheerful giver and enjoyed countless interactions with people
3she met; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp possessed many wonderful attributes;
5her greatest one being that she lived to serve others; she
6possessed a quite and reassuring strength with her ministry of
7presence and servanthood and joined her husband in the ministry
8in 2006 in the New Life Christian Center; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was preceded in death by her father,
10Melvin Feezor; her stepfather, Joseph Bannon; her nephew, Ryan
11Feezor; and her father-in-law, Robert D. Knapp; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Chris Knapp is survived by her husband, Doug; her
13mother, June Feezor-Bannon; her mother-in-law, Bonnie (Doug)
14Knapp; her children, Robert (Heather) Knapp, David Knapp, and
15Stephanie (Adam) Sexton; her brothers, Timothy (Reta) Feezor,
16and Brian (Michelle) Feezor; her grandchildren, Tristan,
17Kylie, Harden, Kaden, Karter, Rylan, Conner, and Rhett; her
18nieces, April (Brett) Kuras, Ashley (Devon) Meadows, and Kelsey
19and Brianne Feezor; her nephews, Daniel and Ian Feezor; and
20several great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Chris Knapp, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
2friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Chris Knapp as an expression of our
5deepest sympathy.
