| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Walter R. White of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on February 2, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was born in Jacksonville, North | 6 | | Carolina to George and Lillian Stringfield White on September | 7 | | 19, 1927; he served in the United States Army and graduated | 8 | | from North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned dual | 9 | | degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering; he married | 10 | | Doris "Dollie" Wallace in Chicago; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Walter White retired after 37 years with Rock | 12 | | Island Arsenal, where he earned numerous awards; he later | 13 | | contracted with KONE Elevators and Escalators; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was a lifetime member of the Kappi | 15 | | Alpha Psi Fraternity; he was an active member of the Riverside | 16 | | Methodist Men's Group and was an avid golfer; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Walter White was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his sisters, Thelma, Helena, and Leontine; and his brother, | 19 | | William; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Walter White is survived by his wife, Doris; his |

| 1 | | children, Garrison R. White, Gregory S. (Loren) White, Alicia | 2 | | Lyn (Duane) Burns, Adrienne Joy (Douglas) Green, Walter Guy | 3 | | (Tina) White, and Todd D. (Tracy) White; his grandchildren, | 4 | | Briana, Courtney, Cameron, Austin, Kennedy, Solomon, Olivia, | 5 | | Victoria, and Jordan; his siblings, Barbara Jean White, Gordon | 6 | | (Carol) White, Richard (Barbara) White, George White Jr., and | 7 | | Frederick White; he was uncle to many nieces and nephews and | 8 | | chose to lovingly grandparent Zach and Morgan, and to be a | 9 | | father and friend to the Chalfant children; therefore, be it
