SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charmaine J. "Charm" Hay, formerly of Wonder Lake and Fox Lake, who passed away on April 9, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Charmaine Hay was born in Chicago to Ralph and Evelyn (Hoelterhoff) McReynolds on May 30, 1944; she attended McHenry High School and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1962; she married Larry O. Hay on October 9, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Charmaine Hay was a longtime employee at the First National Bank of Woodstock, the RTA, Morton Chemical, and Bob Burns & Associates; she also volunteered for many years at NIMC in both the emergency room and transport department; and

WHEREAS, Charmaine Hay always had a smile on her face while line dancing at Maverick, No Bull or with Norm's Dancing Group in McHenry; dancing was her first love, after her family, followed by her Card Club and Wonder Lake Cronies which she always found time for until she moved to her dream home in Arizona; she was so proud of the home that she made with her life partner, John, and fur child, Bailey; and

WHEREAS, Charmaine Hay was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her mothers, Evelyn McReynolds and Edna Hay; and her grandparents, Ernest and Emily Hoelterhoff; and

WHEREAS, Charmaine Hay is survived by her significant other, John Babut; her daughters, Diana (Paul) Haack, Natalie (Jerry) Draffkorn Jr., and Kim (Steve Bois) Keefe; her grandchildren, Brad Larsen, Trey (Jessica) Draffkorn, Jonelle (Josh Medcalf) Draffkorn, and Katelyn Keefe; her great-grandchild, Elinor Draffkorn; and her brothers, Dan (Caroline) McReynolds, Ralph "JR" (Suzanne) McReynolds, and Wesley (Debbie) McReynolds; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charmaine J. "Charm" Hay, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charmaine Hay as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
