SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lois M. Le Menager of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on December 28, 2016 at the age of 82; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was born in Cleveland, Ohio to
6Lawrence and Lillian Stanek on April 25, 1934; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager took care of running the household
8while her parents worked; while raising her own children, she
9was ceaseless in helping with school activities, volunteering,
10and organizing concessions at high school football games; she
11was enormously proud of her Czechoslovakian heritage and was an
12outstanding cook (especially at making chicken paprikash); she
13was also a painter, poet, a gifted counselor to kids, and
14mentor to young business people; she had a passion for the
15military, devoting her time and resources to those who have
16served and continue to serve; she had a particular fondness for
17women in business; she made every effort to lend a hand or
18offer advice in the pursuit of inspiring women; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In 1978, Lois Le Menager founded Marketing
20Innovators International, Inc., an incentive marketing company
21in Rosemont; through her efforts and energy, MI remains one of
22the largest woman-owned businesses in the country and one of

1Chicago's largest private firms; over the years, she received
2numerous prestigious awards, all recognizing her tremendous
3contributions to furthering the incentive industry; she was
4recognized by the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute,
5Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and the American Institute of
6Entrepreneurs; she was awarded Chicago's Top Women-Owned Firms
7from Crain's Chicago Business; Who's-Who in Chicago Business;
8America's Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses, and Working Woman
9Magazine as One of the Largest Women-Owned Businesses in the
10Country; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager enjoyed being a "professional
12shopper" (there wasn't anything on the internet that she
13couldn't find) and beating the odds at the slot machines; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was generous to many charities and
15associations; she served on the board of Junior Achievement,
16donated land to the Boys and Girls Club of America, and was an
17early member of the Women Business Development Center, and the
18Chicago Network; she not only traveled the world, but also
19participated in many travel and incentive industry
20associations; she served as a director for Northwest Commerce
21and First Colonial Banks (which later became FirStar and US
22Bank) for 10 years, and is a past director of the Chicagoland
23Chamber of Commerce; she actively supported the Wounded Warrior
24Project and helped with donations to build The National World

1War II Museum in New Orleans; she will be missed, but never
2forgotten; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was the devoted wife of Spencer H.
4Le Menager; the loving mother of Richard (Jill) Blabolil, and
5Sherry Blabolil-Das; the caring grandmother of Meghan (Ben)
6Jarvis, Sumeer Das, Molly Blabolil, Courtney Das, Emily
7Blabolil, and Abby Blabolil; and the delighted
8great-grandmother to Charlie Jack Jarvis; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Lois Le Menager, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lois Le Menager as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
