SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lois M. Le Menager of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on December 28, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was born in Cleveland, Ohio to
6Lawrence and Lillian Stanek on April 25, 1934; and
 
7    WHEREAS, In 1978, Lois Le Menager founded Marketing
8Innovators International, Inc. in Rosemont, which remains one
9of the largest woman-owned businesses in the country and one of
10Chicago's largest private firms; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager received numerous awards from
12organizations such as the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute,
13the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and the American Institute
14of Entrepreneurs; other recognitions include Crain's Chicago
15Business - Chicago's Top Women-Owned Firms, Who's Who in
16Chicago Business, America's Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses,
17and Working Woman Magazine; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager served on the Board of Junior
19Achievement; she donated land to the Boys and Girls Club of
20America and was an early member of the Women Business
21Development Center and the Chicago Network; she participated in

1many travel and incentive industry associations; she served as
2a director for Northwest Commerce and First Colonial Banks for
310 years, and is a past director of the Chicagoland Chamber of
4Commerce; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was an outstanding cook, a
6painter, a writer of poems, a gifted counselor to kids, and a
7mentor to young business people; she had a passion for the
8military, devoting her time and resources to those who have
9served and continue to serve; she actively supported the
10Wounded Warrior Project and helped with donations to build The
11National World War II Museum in New Orleans; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was enormously proud of her
13Czechoslovakian heritage; her hobbies included being a
14"professional shopper" and beating the odds at the slot
15machines; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was the devoted wife of Spencer H.
17Le Menager; the loving mother of Richard (Jill) Blabolil, and
18Sherry Blabolil-Das; the caring grandmother of Meghan (Ben)
19Jarvis, Sumeer Das, Molly Blabolil, Courtney Das, Emily
20Blabolil, and Abby Blabolil; and the delighted
21great-grandmother of Charlie Jack Jarvis; therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Lois M. Le Menager, and extend our sincere condolences to her
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Lois Le Menager as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
