SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary L. Baker of Moline, who passed away on July 31, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Gary Baker was born in Moline to Alan J. and Marjorie A. (Kraklow) Baker on March 25, 1953; he served in the U.S. Army and married Cheryl Hughes in Coal Valley on January 21, 1977; and

WHEREAS, Gary Baker worked on a farm in Toulon when he was first married; he worked for the railroad and built sets for Playcrafters Barn Theatre and Circa '21; he retired from Augustana College in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gary Baker enjoyed acting and participating at Comedy Sportz; he also enjoyed western movies, reading, spending time with his grandchildren, and being outdoors; and

WHEREAS, Gary Baker was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother; and

WHEREAS, Gary Baker is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Jeniffer (Jason) Hammond and Franklin Baker; his grandchildren, Cameron Baker, Lilliana Baker, and Jacen Hammond; and his sisters, Pamela Baker, Melody (Frank) Anderson, and Dori Smith; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary L. Baker, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Baker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
